United Way’s President & CEO Lucy Miller spoke with Angela Knight on the CBC Eyeopener on May 30, 2014 about All In for Girls and June Dresses. She spoke about the importance of school completion and the work being done to ensure all youth, especially girls, complete high school.

Debra Yedlin on the Math Crisis


The Calgary Herald‘s Debra Yedlin wrote the editorial “Calgary a microcosm of the math crisis in Canada” in January, explaining how math is in demand but students can’t keep up.

“There is unprecedented demand for math tutors, especially at the high school level, throughout the city,” Yedlin writes. “Those in high school 30 years ago – the engineers and scientists of today – didn’t require tutoring on the same scale.” She goes on to write about All In for Youth and the tutoring pilot project underway at YMCAs across the city.
